Kexin Wen (Kristy) graduated from Ontario College of Art and Design University and is now pursuing an MA degree at the Royal College of Art studying Jewellery and Metal. In her practice, she creates one-of-a-kind art jewellery using traditional metalsmithing techniques and explores the relationship between jewellery and the wearer as the human body is a second component in her work. Her body of work is inspired by natural elements and focuses on incorporating curvilinear forms symbolic of the ecosystem formed between the living and the inanimate. Symbolism is often used to evoke her emotions and the human-jewellery connection. She aims to master traditional jewellery techniques to combine modern aesthetics and her passion for this highly developed art form. Kristy is also interested in learning photography, her photographic work focuses on narrative sequences.
